Embroidery Threads | naturally dyed
Pure merino wool embroidery threads NM 2/12, corresponding to needle sizes 2.5–3. Each carved wooden spool contains approximately 5g of thread. Hand dyed in our atelier in Galicia using agricultural discards and other botanical dyes. Our Spanish merino wool comes from a shepherds’ cooperative in Extremadura that follows the principles of extensive livestock farming. Raised in the heart of las dehesas, a protected ecosystem that blends free-range livestock farming, forestry, and wild flora and fauna, ensuring animal welfare and completely free from mulesing. Packed in a cotton pouch, hand-dyed with madder (Rubia tinctorum).
Materials: 100% Spanish merino wool
Dye: Onion skins, Pomegranate skins, Avocado seeds, Indigo. Ecru and brown are the natural, undyed colors of the wool.

Note: There may be variation in color tone or intensity from one dye bath to another, as long as the dyeing is done by hand and with plants, no two dye baths can be exactly the same. There may be small knots; when this happens, I add extra thread to the spool. If you need larger quantities, you can place your order via info@materia-botanica.com.
