Care Guide

Take care of your garment to make it last

The most sustainable garment is that you wear many times and it lives for a long time. Craft pieces deserve special care, but even more if they are made of wool and dyed with natural dyes, keep in mind that it is a special garment and requires a series of care:

Wool is a weather-resistant material that ages beautifully, but it can shrink if not properly washed. Wash your wool garment at 30º, by hand or in the washing machine with a special wool program. Never use strong spin or tumble dryer. Dry the garment horizontally.

Plant dyes can subtly change their color over time, this tells us that the color is alive and the irregularity of the pigment makes a unique piece. Natural dyeing with plants is an alchemical process, therefore other substances that come into contact with the garment may alter its PH, changing the color or leaving stains. Keep the garment away from acid substances such as vinegar, lemon, orange, bicarbonate and other base PH substances such as bleach. It is important that you do not use perfumes, deodorants with aluminum, essential oils, cosmetics with fragrances near your vegetable dyed garment.

The best soap for washing natural dyed garments is neutral or Marseille or Castilla soap, the use of fabric softener is not recommended. The vegetable dye is sensitive to light, dry the garment without direct sunlight and store it in a closed and dark place.
